What's New
WORKFORCE WV Day Photo

The 1st WORKFORCE West Virginia Day in the West Virginia Legislature was held March 11, 2004. Workforce professionals from around the state including representatives from each of the seven local Workforce Investment Boards, the Governor's Workforce Investment Office and other state agencies. Also participating were employed workers who had taken advantage of services in the workforce development system. (Visit the Press Releases page to read more about this event.)

Two Incentive Grants totaling $150,000 were recently awarded targeted to youth. One grant went to the Mid-Ohio Valley Workforce Investment Board to serve fifty WIA eligible youth interested in tourism careers. The other grant went to Region VII Workforce Investment Board to increase their youth's knowledge of targeted demand occupations in the region. (Visit the INITIATIVES page to learn more.)

A Senate Resolution was issued and read at the WORKFORCE West Virginia Day at the Legislature. The resolution recognized the positive advancements made in the workforce development system in the past couple years. (Click here to see a full copy.)
